After being evicted from her previous home, Leslie and her children landed in PVSS’ Family Emergency Shelter in August 2020. Since then, her life has changed tremendously. Her girls were so excited to finally have a room of their own when they moved into PVSS’ two-year transitional housing. “I have never seen my children happier,” shared Leslie.

Leslie’s has her sights set on saving enough money to purchase a home of her own. She worked with her case manager to secure funding through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) to cover the cost of tuition for a Clinical Medical Assistant program. Leslie is excited for classes to start this month and she’s well on her way to a financially stable future.  She attributes her newfound strength and confidence to the ACES and Family Strengthening workshops.

Leslie shared that she has never been in a better place mentally and physically. Continuing she added, “If it wasn’t for PVSS, I honestly don’t know what would have become of me and my children. I feel extremely blessed to be a part of PVSS, they have supported me and my children through everything.”
