COVID-19 Family Emergency Relief Fund

Help us raise $110K by Mother’s Day

For the first time ever in 36 years, our Mother’s Day Run & Walk is going virtual in light of the current COVID-19 public health crisis. 100% of event proceeds support our mission. As you consider the needs and the impact that you can make on the surrounding community, please consider staying connected with Pajaro Valley Shelter Services and our families.

Our goal is $110,000 in critical funds to reach our Mother’s Day Run & Walk goal and raise additional Family Emergency Relief funds to help the 184 parents and children who are experiencing the economic impacts related to COVID-19.

PVSS parents like Nineth and Jose are losing their jobs, perhaps permanently. Nineth called her PVSS case manager crying last week. She and her husband, parents of three children, lost their jobs and will not be able to pay rent and bills. Because they are undocumented, they do not qualify for any government support.

Every day, we are learning about new families losing their employment.

We are committed to keeping these families housed until they can get back on their feet, covering their rents and providing additional financial assistance as needed.

Most people in our programs literally work their way out of homelessness. The don’t want handouts; they just want an opportunity to build a future. Without employment income, a self-sufficient future is out of reach.

Executive Director, PVSS

Let’s live in a community where every child has a place to stay.

You are the difference.

Your monetary donation allows us to continue and grow our services for families.  Our daily operations and continued success depend on you.

The housing we provide is fully furnished with everything from furniture to kitchen utensils. Your donation of new or gently used clothing, appliances, toys, electronics, and furniture, greatly reduces PVSS’ expenditures.

Looking for a way to invest your time for great impact? PVSS has a variety of ways to get involved! Whether you want to volunteer with a friend, a group of coworkers, or by yourself, there is something for everyone.
