My daughter was placed in foster care. Then I found PVSS. Once I obtained housing and began my journey with PVSS, the Court assessed my progress and first ordered that my daughter could stay over for one night. Then they allowed a two-night stay, and then a three-night stay. That eventually turned into a week, which turned into a month. And now the Court has granted me reunification with my daughter.

Single- and two-parent households with children may reside in the two 1-Year Transitional Housing for a maximum of 12 months. Up to 8 families may share these units.

PVSS collaborates with other agencies to provide coordinated case management support. Each family develops a written individual life plan and works on accomplishing self-sufficiency goals in areas such as employment, education, housing, immigration, mental health, English as a Second Language, parenting, and budgeting. Each family also learns key financial literacy skills, which allow them to save a substantial portion of their income.
